Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB)
Introduction

psiNAT MDR TB Real Time PCR Test kit for the qualitative/quantitative detection of nucleic acidSputum, BAL, swab, urine, CSF, plasma, stool samples of suspected individuals.Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is a form of tuberculosis (TB) infection caused by bacteria that are resistant to treatment with at least two of the most powerful first-line anti-TB medications (drugs), isoniazid and rifampin. The TB bacteria has natural defenses against some drugs, and can acquire drug resistance through genetic mutations.Resistance to anti-TB drugs can occur when these drugs are misused or mismanaged. Major spread is through air droplets originating from a person who has the disease either coughing, sneezing, speaking, or singing. psiNAT MDR TB Real Time PCR Test kit targets the specific conserved sequence encoding rpoBgene. With the PCR reaction mix provided, the amplification of template can be quantitatively monitored by the increasing fluorescence signal detected by a real-time PCR instrument. The PCR detection system includes an endogenous internal control too.
